Craig and Becky found out their baby had Hydrocephalus Dandy-Walker Malformation at 20 weeks. Doctors had no idea the severity of the damage caused by the pressure on his brain prior to birth. Kody was born 9/29/2003 he had a shunt placed at birth to regulate the fluid on his brain. Kody had his challenges but was surprising all his teachers and doctors with his progress.

         He has a brother Grant born 4/24/2005 and a sister Shania born 11/06/2009. Grant was very close to his older brother. We called him little big brother because he liked helping Kody.

 

         Kody loved going to the cabin and asking Papa (Grandpa Duane) for a tractor ride. He loved school, his teachers, Dawn Merry (who spent has much if not more time with him then us), Swimming with his buddy Eric. He loved playing with his PCA's Sam, Missy, Hannah, & Josh. Sam was his buddy, like a big brother to him. Kody loved to just sit in the car or van. He liked to look at pictures of family on the computer. He loved the tunnels at McDonalds and Chuck E. Cheese. His favorite foods were Pizza and Ice Cream while his favorite tv show was Sesame Street. He loved Elmo, Curious George, Spot and others. He always wanted to take the camera and play with it. He loved watching his shows with Daddy down stairs at night and having me read him stories at bedtime, "Daddy Story, Daddy Story."

 

      Kody was very loving and loved to snuggle when in the mood, giving us his signature Kodybear hug. We had hoped he would have grown into a wonderful loving young man, but alas God had other plans. On Jan. 7th, 2013 Kody unexpectantly went home to Heaven. He touched more hearts and lives in his 9 years than many do in a lifetime.  We would not trade our time with him for anything.
